June 9th – July 22nd – Roger Allam and Ian Mckellen to star in a new comedy by Ben Weatherill, Frank and Percy, at the Theatre Royal Windsor. It promises to be a witty take on the unexpected relationship that blossoms between two men who are both devoted to their canine companions. For further details see here.

28th May 2023 – Don’t forget to tune into ITV1 at 8pm to see Kevin Whately in the Midsomer Murders episode For Death Prepare. Filmed in 2021 and shown in the States a year ago this is the 50th episode of the Neil Dudgeon era. Viewers may be forgiven for thinking that it is really a Lewis episode in which Lewis has gone under cover (just as he did in Deceived by Flight) to play the Major-General in The Pirates of Penzance in order to trap the person killing off various members of an amateur operatic group. It was nice to see Kevin promoted at last and in his new uniform singing! In 2012 Kevin made another cross-over in Gently in the Cathedral as Donald McGhee in George Gently … so the question has to be asked what will be his next appearance in a detective show? Betting has him turning up on Saint Marie in an episode of Death in Paradise soon!
